Seminar / Presentation Availability:
Teri Vodden, LCSW is available to conduct seminars for teachers, school psychologists, parents, law enforcement and mental health professionals.
School District Seminars focus on:
- Helping participants understand the complexity of issues surrounding sexual abuse
- How to engage children in self-protection behaviors.
- Establishing classroom guidelines for physical contact.
- Outlining the components of an abuse prevention curriculum.
- Procedures for interviewing and reporting abuse.
- Live demonstration of program for classroom audience.
This seminar can be used to establish school district policies and procedures regarding sexual abuse prevention curriculum. This course was designed based on the California Standards for Health Education.
Seminars for Foster Parents focus on:
- Identifying the incidence of sexual abuse among foster children.
- Exploring the behavioral and emotional effects of sexual abuse.
- Helping families establish guidelines for physical interaction.
- How to engage children in self-protective behaviors.
- Advice on how to protect teens from becoming perpetrators.
- Presentation for children of the “It’s Up To Me” sexual abuse prevention program.
